as in the topic, did anyone catch dirt wheels latest 450 shootout? the yfz450 won (yet again). now i know its a great bike, but does it seem to anyone else like dirtwheels has a yamaha bias??

 

No. The other 450s are not as good.

 

If I mostly rode track, did a lot of jumping or play riding (backyard MX), I would pick the Yamaha.....

....but the Honda is the KING OF THE DESERT! In the big long distance desert endurance races, if you aren't on the 450R you probably won't even finish the race much less win. That says volumes to me! Wouldn't have a use for any of the others.....

its hard to beat any one the 3 big yamahas aka the yfz450 raptor 700 and the banshee. these bikes pretty much are the best for what they were made for. track, trails, and dunes.

 

What where the other 450's that where in the shootout?

 

didnt see it killaraptor but they useally use all the 450s out. the only one i whould say might not be in there is the kfx450 because it is so new

 

Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha. Next time they'll get the Can-Am and KTM in there.

 

ya, it was the big four, honda, yamaha, kawi and suzuki. it was a great shootout. im not nocking the yfz (im about to buy one) but it just seems weird that the three machines released after the yfz, and by being realsed after they were designed to beat it... cant!?!?!

 

I am a subscriber to the magazine , I have for many years , and ,it does look like this magazine likes Yamaha a lot . they copared the newest grisly , wich has a motor bigger than 700cc to a honda500cc. aperently the comparison was for the electric power steer, and it turnd out to bee the hole bike.
