Default Power Commander

Just got my first fuel injected machine and was wondering what exactly a "power commander" does. I believe you can adjuct the power curve? Also what do they run and are they worth it?

You need to mod the amount of fuel youre EFI engine gets after you have made mods like exhaust and filter. The standard ECU cant tell you have made the mods and will run lean. The EFI piggy back box fools the Yamaha ECU into giving it extra fuel and so you can get more power after the mods.

$350 for Power commander III is the best programable one in my opinion.

Works best if tuned on a dyno by a pro.

not only does it add a few ponies but driveability, better gas mileage, make all your mods before tuning your new map. if not you will have to take it to the dyno shop after each mod added, which is a good way to see if mod is giving you some HP but can get pricey..

sorry for digging up an old post.
