I find the Raptor to be absolutely mushy!

Have not ridden a current year YFZ, but in the early days they were so stiff that they weren't any fun on the trail.

Your logic of thinking you need an ATV with the stiffest suspension isn't really correct. Most of today's sport ATV's have adjustable preload on the shocks to adjust for rider weight and different riding conditions. I'm not sure of you height but by your weight figure I would imagine you would be better suited on a Raptor 700. How tall are you?

The aftermarket can provide you with any type of springs you want, and more important the correct valving to go with them! Most of the shocks that come on high end quads these days are buildable/rebuildable, so you don't necessarily need to fork up the $$$ for whole new shocks.

Two of my buddies had Works Performance respring and revalve their 450, and they are very happy with the result.

I'm heavier than you and the z400 suspension handles me just fine for small to medium size jumps....

The Raptor 700 SE with fully adjustable suspension is the machine I would buy right now if I was buying new......

.the yfz450 will be better on the track than a raptor 700. i herd the ltr-450 is the best rack quad right now becasue it is way wider than all other 450s and has the most travel in the suspestion. i think 10.6 in the front where all the others only have like 9.6 9.2 and i thinl like 8.7. and it is fuel injected which i have the raptor 700 and i love the fuel injection. there is so much power to be made with fi engines.

If you just want the "stiffest suspension you can get", then buy a Honda 250 EX. They have almost no suspension travel, and it feels like you are riding a brick. A 250 lb rider can jump the quad and not even get the suspension to move.
