Polaris has got a hit

AT first when I bought the outlaw 525 for my brother, I wasn't so impressed when I rode (never with any other quads around to compare to.) (I used to have a raptor 660 with work done to it) Then I rode it with some buddies. One with a ltr450 and the other two with raptor 700's and they all had mods. My brothers quad is stock. We rode on some muddy trails with lots of big hills...to my surprise I was always in front of them and not just by a little I'm talking way in front...And the best thing is traction, you get tired just trying to hang on... I am sold on the bike. A few days later I bought one for me...I was always hooked on jap. bikes but polaris has got a hit. I think I also opened my eyes a little after chatting with a polaris owner about a week ago ( YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE...THANKS) Now I know why you like polaris so much...I also needed some seat time along with some competitive friends to ride with. And about that running hot thing...a valve adjustment cured it and added some horsepower... Can't wait to see how fast a pipe makes this animal.

Put the 525 KTM Engine in any ATV and you will be impressed. Thank KTM for the outlaw not Polaris. When is the 525 Sportsman coming out is what I want to know?

The places where I would need IRS, are also places where I would need 4wd...so that's a non-issue for me....
I can't see getting this engine in a Polaris frame....when I will be able to get it in a KTM frame!

It is already in one ...525 xc...Yesterday I saw it (probably the 450xc) in a GNCC race on tv...it didn't do too good. The winners were all honda and a few yamaha. The ktm is an amazing bike, but for around nine grand it better be! I wanted one but the price scared me away. I got the polaris for $6500...brand new and it has the 525. I didn't think much of IRS until I rode it...If you ride on unmaintained trails like I do, it really makes a difference over swing arms. Check it out at a dealer where you live...it is not out in P.R. until mid 2008.

Like I said, if it is that nasty...I'll be on a 4X4! I have seen the pictures of eastern GNCC racing where the track is all muddy and deeply rutted. I can see that an IRS sport quad would be an advantage there...but not anywhere I will ever ride.
I will bet you however, that Honda might field the new 700 with IRS at the Baja 1000, just to prove that it can go the distance...

I agree with TLC, it is just that engine, maybe Polaris could've somehow converted a Victory or snowmobile engine into the chassis, but alas, it is just the ktm engine, there is nothing very impressive about the outlaw's chassis, not like the whole can-am deal, Rotax engines and the Can-Am chassis, that's a good combo

that is how I felt until I rode hard...the next day I noticed that my lower back did not hurt...plus the ground clearance is amazing and not to mention added traction. it really is a good combo and that is coming from some one who was dead against buying anything other than yamaha, honda, suzuki or kawasaki.

I saw a 525 Outlaw with IRS the other day and to me it also looks like it might be a nice nice package also.
It looks to have a stabilizer setup out back for handling in the IRS.
I'd like to throw one around to see how it corners and handles first hand.
Ground clearance and a nicer ride are good things to have on some rides, so long as the trade off is not large.
