01 Honda 400EX vs 03 Yamaha Warrior
I'm looking at both of these quads and they each seem very nice. They are both the same price ($2200). Which one of these is the better overall quad? I'm probably going to be doing alot of dune riding and trail riding. Also which one is more customizable? I'm leaning toward the Honda but I want to hear any pros and cons about these machines. I will appreciate anyones 2 cents! Thanks guys!

The teens in this forum were in diapers when I was riding a Warrior. It was the worst quad I ever owned! I was never so glad as the day in 99 when I got rid of it and got a nice new 400EX!!!
The EX is by far the better machine! The Warrior handles heavy and kind of clunky (although it isn't that heavy "on paper"). It has a front heavy weight balance, and the rear suspension linkage has just never been right. The frame geometry isn't great either.

A little late on this one but we have a 400 and a warrior and to tell you the truth I think it would take about 500 bucks or more to make hers compare with mine. I've heard that you can upgrade the warriors suspension to shocks off of newer bikes, and get rid of the so called "baloon" tires to improve the handling, which is my biggest gripe with it. However it is my girls and she is still learning so it works for her for now. The only pros I can give it are an extra gear and reverse over my ex. But, most people, even me, don't need reverse on a sport, it's just a convenience thing. I feel the warrior would have less of a hard time pulling a tree out of the ground than my bike, but this torque makes the bike feel like it can't get out of it's own way thru the first couple of gears. By now it seems like you made the right decision and went red, but if not, I hope I helped out.
