Thanks alot for the feedback. I was told that Polaris were trash cause they have immediate problems after 3 hours of riding.. Like they wont start or they fall apart.. I heard that Honda's new 700xx got IRS.. I would guess that is better than any other ATV suspension.. But the Honda and Polaris are larger and heavier they also hold more gas than the Raptor by an estimate of .4 gal Stock!!</end quote></div>
actually the outlaw irs is the same weight as a raptor, and the sra model is 21 pounds lighter. As far as polaris bein a POS, they have come a long way since the beginning. They are just as reliable as any other manufacturer. The Army actually took a bunch of brands out and tested them to see what brand they would purchase and polaris won so thats what the army uses if that says anything!

All depends on HP, I get close to 20mpg with my 35hp 500 ATV while my friends Foreman 500 with 26hp gets 25mpg easily. I have a 5 gallon tank and he has a under 4 gallon tank yet we get the same range.

I have owned honda, polaris, and suzuki and I would have to say that polaris has come a long way. I dont think you could go terribly wrong with any major manufacturer now a days. My polaris starts right away every time after sitting for weeks and weeks.

Ok... But just cause of the look and less weight, I'm just gonna get the Raptor... And also, I'm lookin into gettin probably a 250 dirt bike.. But I might get a 450 just cause its a lil extra more but more engine... I want to start riding both... But I dont really have any dirt bike or motorcycle skills... But if I get some ***** my get a modded Hayabusa

This is an old post that someone resurrected, but.......
IMS Products
You can get "desert" fuel tanks for most major sport quads. My 400EX's IMS tank for example, holds 5.3 gallons!!!

I can ride like 4 hours on my 400 ex and like 2-3 hours on sportsman 700 twin hammer the 400 every ride wife putts the sportsman around basic rule of thumb is more engine or more weight = more fuel consumption

Engine size, rider weight, and rider technique all play a role. It's pretty much impossible to know for certain without an odometer. But, if you are riding with a guy that has a trip odometer you can do it that way. My 400ex goes between 60 to 70 miles on a tank of fuel.
