Default HELP!... can't decide

Well, I went on down to the Polaris dealer that had both machines....

The Polaris dealer made both decisions for me...
I still wasn't sure when I arrived...
But the Scrambler was in some storage warehouse still in the crate.

I looked at the Outlaw and noticed a few things on it that were cheap/cheesy looking. Mostly the controls... bars, clutch/brake handles, etc... but I was really digging the IRS and the clearance/protection that provides and was willing to take a gamble on the handling, hoping I would get a nice ride and get used to it. So we went to make a deal.

They threw on me some extra "fees" and I told myself screw that unless they would throw in enough goodies to make up for it... and they did. But while I was picking out my "thrown in" helmets and such.... well I see a shop guy come into the parts department............................

He's griping that they have sold this Outlaw and it's the one they robbed the wiring harness off of for some other owner because they didn't have it in stock.... and he's trying to figure out where the one is that they ordered..............

I was pretty ticked off. I had to make a long drive into a big city for this, which had me about to blow my lid before I got there. Errrr.....

So I guess after the holiday I will see if the DVX400 is still an option.
(looking at some used stuff until then)

I'd have to go back into the same city to look at the used 400EX, which I am not sure I want to do again with a truck & trailer.

So, you broke the deal after you heard the parts guy?

What did you say?

Yes I sure did break the deal.
I was pretty tee-d-off....

You see I called up front before leaving to make sure it was a go...
Then I made a 200 mile round trip....
That included towing a trailer into and out of a major city.

The whole point of the trip with the trailer was to buy one of the quads provided I liked them equal or better.... and to bring it home with me while I was at it.... and have it for the holiday weekend.

That didn't exactly work out as planned.

To update, I am still partially considering the DVX400.

I guess I can call it my option if I decide to buy new.
I was considering a new 400EX as well...
But I just can't justify the new price.
Not that it's higher than other new ones...
It's just that there are too many used Hondas around to pay that.
Not for my uses.....
I just don't see a gap of performance worth that v/s a used 300EX or 400EX. (or Warrior)

Anyways, I'm getting the absolute bottom line on the DVX400 on Thurs or Fri when the owner returns. I'll decide on it then. In the meantime I'm looking at more used wheelers....
