The gears seem to hold up fine, I ran it on dirt dog rears (not on in the picture), and even with them new, they very seldom we hooking up... It even ran mud (moderate depth) good.

u must have not seen a nice raptor race then. i take out 4mm shees all day long with my raptor 700 stock bore. the shees that start to get me are the 10mm+. and my raptor is not that fast. i mean it is no slouch but it is still at stock cc. not like its a 907cc monster. lets put it like this ive never had a shee that could ride to and from the hill that could beat me they are all trailered in.</end quote></div>
You must race alot of thrown together junk or alot of punk kids with a ignorant mouths. Or you must like spray or have a nice turbo sitting on it. Most 4 mil cheetahs that Ive seen are pushing 100+ hp on gas , 115 on alky run low 4s in 300ft and aren't trailered. 7 mils are pushing 140+ on alky and in the high 3s.</end quote></div>
so u are saying u have a 7mil shee on alky that can dune 5+ miles to the hill at ball to the wall speed?(ive got 2 see this) and u want to say just thrown togther. bro i ride glamis we dont mess around out here. and yeah a 4mil does make abotu 100hp and my 80hp takes it out. u want to know why? this is because i have WAY more tq than that shee and im making that power like 6 times longer than that tricked out weed wacker.

man, this tread is still cookin'?
I see it has degenerated into another drag quad issue.
Yes they can go fast up a hill, but isn't it nice to go hit some jumps once in a while or pucker bush riding where there are no trails?
Sorry, MX/Desert guy can't help it.
The best part about this is no matter what quad is decided the fastest over all, it will get absolutly smoked by some schmuck on an ugly old CR500 or KX500 you know the sleeper bike
Now if only some one could convince Maico to stick their lovely 685 2 stroke in a quad then we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

i agree about all this drag quad ****. i dont like them. that is why i have long travel suspension and not suspension made for something onroad pretty much. and a eninge that i can be at wide open throttle for long periods

I am a die hard trike and quad guy, but I have to say I would never be able to keep up with myself Zilla vs me on the 85' CR500 I ride now and then or my buddies hopped up XR650R.
All these drag quads, are awsome to behold off the line and at the hill climbs in the dunes. then again this is all they can really do.
going 95 mph up a hill is a wicked awsome feeling of course so is going that fast for a couple miles before the hill too.
Bigned is right on. Riding wide open is great (which is why I'm taking my 91' RM250 to ocotillo wells as soon as I type this) have fun drag racing I'm going to go beat the snot out of that poor bike.
Oh one quick thing, this thread was kind of intended as a question of what the fastest production ATV ever is.
The consumer product safety board had the great idea that ATVs should not go faster than 75 mph a decade back or so, so you will have to look to older production machines to get your answer (why do you think the DS650 is so under geared and the rev limiter kicks in as soon as you touch the throttle)
the Suzuki LT500R as tested in 1988 went 79 mph stock
the true title goes to a trike oddly enough, and one you may have never heard of
The TIGER 500 at 81mph
This thing had a monster air cooled 500cc Rotax engine and weighed less than a 350x which weighs less than a blaster
so it is no mystery how that thing came to be the fastest production ATV

those tiger 500cc 2 strokes were wicked fast. ive only seen one in person. i myself know all about that kind of power also being that i used to own a cr500 bike that was coverted into a trike. it was pretty dang fast but i have to tell u my new raptor is faster exp in real riding where u are going over whoops.

If I remember correctly though you have a pretty fair amount of work done to your suspension set up. My zilla was stone stock save for the uni filter and an RM silencer and I held my own against the big bore bikes through the whoops The suspension action those shocks are on par with the Raptor SE as far as action goes. They are stiffer admitedly(I never cared), but fro something that old to track so well and strait is impressive.
Go ride a piped out zilla and you will be duely impressed, I know I would, seeing as it would probably go faster than mine.

Banshee's are the best modded quad because there is soooo musch you could with one. They been around for so long that everything possible has been done to them and there are tons are parts out there for them.
