How much is a leager frame????? I'm thirteen and want to race MX. I was thinking of putting a cr80 motor in a leagar quad like all the other people did to their kids machines. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure about the frame but i wouldn't put a cr80 motor in a quad. I would go for the 125 if no the 250. I have a 125 honda quad and it would be embarrasing to race it. It tops out at like 25-30.

Reconrider. Check out the May 1998 issue of DirtWheels. Page 108. There is an article about Zac Willet's Honda with a modified CR80 engine. He used a Laeger frame. Looks like it might be exactly what you are wanting to do.

Thanks but I found an old issue of 4 wheel atv action that talks about Matt Bartosek's cr-80. But I dont think I'm gonna do it anyway. There's not very many riders in the mini class and I wouldnt be able to keep up with that girl on the kx-80. yeah I admit it. I would get whooped by that chick on the kx. So I'm just gonna get the ole Recon out on the track in the utility class where I know I can get atleast second but that Arctic Cat 454 looks pretty fast tho.

Zac Willets bike has a Laeger Mini Frame. Its desighned to accept the CR80 motor. If you wanted to race some flat track or TT you might could get away with a TRX125/CR80 conversion, due to the lack of suspension on the 125 it wouldnt work good for MX.

Just for reference here a CR80 is a 2 stroke motor that cranks out some serious HP for it's size. The little TRX125 is a four stroke slug, comparing the two is like comparing a 250R to a TRX300, just because it's larger displacement doesnt mean it's faster. A CR80 powered quad will eat up clutches but that little motor is suprisingly potent. It will surely be alot faster than any other OEM 80 or 90cc quad.
