YFZ 450 or Raptor 700r?
I am lookin to buy a new atv and i am trying to decide wether i chould buy a 2004 yfz 450 with under 40 hrs on it or a 2007 raptor 700R, i ride mostly small pits and short trail, i want a quad that is fast and fun in a sand pit but also works good in the trails and can jump, i am 6 feet and about 245 lbs

I think you could really go either way here. Maybe the 700, like dodge said, will make you feel more at home, since you are a little bit heavier than the "key" weight group for 450s that get the most power out of them (usually 210 lbs and under I'd say). Also the fact that you said you will be riding trails, the 700 is a great trail quad. Plus YFZs are usually raced, racing takes a toll on a quad's internal components! And you didn't say you'd be going to any tracks.
I ride a 450 and I am about 6 feet, 190 lbs.
If you are looking to buy used, I'd also consider a Bombardier/Can Am DS650.... they are really well engineered quads but just lost their value really quickly for some reason, you can get them pretty cheap.

Dont the a yfz if the year is 04 or 05. get 06 and up</end quote></div>
Eh, I disagree. '06 and up had sum great improvements but, the '04 and '05's are still good quads. I see alot, including mine, still going strong.
I mean if it's between a '05 and '07 sure jump on the new one but, guess I'm saying no need to "Avoid" the '04 and '05.
