Octane booster?

I run octane booster in my '99 440EX and it works fine with 93 octane pump gas, I have never rode without it so I don't know if it makes a big difference but it makes me feel fast

While we are on this subject, has anyone used Klotz Nitro Power additive, I saw it in my Chaparral Catalog and it says it blends with gasoline, it is 50% Nitropropane and 50% Koolinal, I thought running nitro in stock engines ruined them?

Octane boosters boost octane; however, I don't believe this additive provides any additional potential heat energy to the fuel.

If your engine's pump fuel causes pre-detonation; "pinging," or "knocking," octane booster helps a lot, insuring efficient combustion and preventing engine damage from pre-ignition. For example, after consequently raising the compression ratio of my quad's engine from an overbore, the engine demanded high-test pump gas; otherwise, it pinged under load (gas station high-test did the trick; no octane booster was needed).

However, if the fuel meets your engine's octane requirements, extra oomph does not result from higher octane fuel rating.

I don't know about the "nitro" joy juice mentioned on the topic; generally, more power from fuel must come from more available heat energy from combustion. Good questions include; "Where does the additional heat energy come from," and, "How will my existing engine dissipate that additional heat energy?" Extreme modifications (e.g., jetting, aspiration (blowers), valving, compression ratio raising, etc.) sometimes are necessary to use higher heat energy from exotic fuels and consequently produce more power.

I don't gainsay high-octane gas and octane booster; if you use it and like it, ride on!

I have a 2000 400ex and I've been told that putting octane booster in my Amoco 93 octane gas will increase performance. Does anyone know if thats true? And if so what will it do to my engine??

Mad mark, Unless you have increased your engine's compression, I see no reason to use race gas or other octane enhancers, altho I do run premium pump gas in my Warrior only because I. feel it may run slightly cooler, being air cooled. I have no facts to bear this out however.
Sort of like the man standing on the corner beating two pots together; When man #2 asked him why he does this, man#1 replies,"I'm keeping the elephants away".Man #2 says, "There's no elephants around here"!
Man #1 says, "See!"

who's to say my theory isn't also working?
