I replaced my solenoid because my starter would continue to "run" after my 400ex was started and running. Everything was ok for about 3-4 starts now the starter continues to run after my 400ex starts like when I had my bad solenoid.

Now to my question could my new starter be defective? What should I check? I hate electrical work so I'm hoping it's just replacing the solenoid again.

There might be a short circut from moisture up where the starter button is. If there isn't, I would take your 400 to a mechanic who knows exactly what he/she is doing, so you don't get frusterated and cause more damge, thats what I do.
