swing-arm bushings????????

as i got on my banshee to start riding, i noticed that when i rocked left to right there was about an inch of play. is this normal? are their any bushings that coulld have gone bad? i checked my axle and the nuts were torqued to spec. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tony jack up your quad by the frame and try to wiggle the axle up and down. if it is the axle moving in the carrier its the rear axle bearings if its the swingarm moving then its the swingarm bearings. hope i could be of some help.

Or just grab the grab bar in the back and pull left and right on it. If the upper frame moves but the back tires stay put, the swingarm bearings are junk and need replacement.

well i tried your advice and it turns out it was the axle bearings. thanks for all your help
