400EX or DS650?

I was reading your post and i must disagree with some of your comments.First off,i ride mostly in the sand here in Utah. There is a hill here named sand mountain,it is roughly 500ft.to 600ft. long.I have raced plenty of DS650'S up this hill and have NEVER LOST!! My raptor has a full Big Gun pipe, drilled airbox, and is rejetted. Most of the DS,s i race have the same mods or more.I also weigh 225lbs.I really don,t care what the magazine said,i seen it for myself! I'm not bad mouthing the DS,i'm just stating, what i've experienced. The only condition i think the DS would beat a raptor, is in a FLAT drag race on the top end.On a motocross track, forget it.In the desert though, the DS would be great.

DEAR BUDDAH,
WHAT TIRES ARE YOU RUNNING AND WHAT TIRES ARE THE DS RUNNING. THE DS IS MUCH FASTER, I KEEP HEARING PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE BEAT THE DS BUT, BUT THAT IS NOT THE TRUTH.BY THE WAY HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION HOLDING UP AND HAVE YOU READ ABOUT THE BAJA 2000 WIN AND THE ROOF OF AFRICA RACE WHERE THE STOCK DS BEAT THE MODS OUT THE YIN YANG BY 1HR 40 MINUTES.

Both quads were running 8 paddle (straight) haulers.Like i stated, the DS has awesome top end on the flat, but what i've experienced dragging up the hill, my raptor has never lost to a DS.It will run even better when i put a less restrictive air filter in.I would like to run against one on the flat though.

Why the 55% tax thing on a Raptor. Is it ONLY on the Raptor, or any quad, because you should be able to get a Raptor for less than the D(isgustingly Unreliable) S(Tinks to High Heavan) 650.
All I've heard from DS 650 owners is that they overheat, are a pain to tune, and oh, yeah, DON'T HAVE REVERSE.
The DS 650 is too wide to run on any of the woods trails that we ride on, and I think too heavy if you get it stuck. Might as well buy a traxter.

the 52% tax is for any quad muilt outside the US or Canada, and the raptor is built in Japan, so...
By the way, the terrain out here where i live, is mostly desert, hardpacked dirt, sand and rocks, so i'm not really worried over the woods ride on a quad
oh, and have you seen the sootout in atvnews between the 4 sports?

They claim the 400EX as the best. True?
