Default trail tech vapor install

I got my trail tech vapor. on fedex today and I tried to install it tonight. But I ran into a couple of problems. First the temperature sensor wire is too short and I won't be able to steer. second the speed sensor might work if i can get it put in the right place. other than that all the other things seem to be fine. So i will have to cal trail tech in the morning and see if I can make the temp sensor wire longer of if they have a longer one that they can send me. has anyone else ran into these problems when installing this thing? thanks.

How are you mounting it. I went with the Trail Tech clamp/mount. If you are mounting it up on your handlebars, you can gain a lot of length by mounting it down by the handlebar clamp. I don't believe you can add length to the cable.

This is the TT clamp mount.

What are you mounting it on? I put one on my kfx400 and everything had more than enough cable and wire. If you haven't gotten one yet, get the dashboard protector. Kinda pricey, but worth it.

Hey RPM,

I'm probably gonna order a Trail Tech Vapor + the mount that you have (except the one for the LTR obviously) but I was just wondering what you think of it.

LOVE IT. For the money and the craftsmanship, there is't a better value out there.

I bought one about two years ago and it only lasted one season, then i got a GPS and that works much better
It tells:
Speed
How Fast
How long you take breaks
How far you have traveled
Time
It will tell you right where you are at.
Most inportantly it will help you get back home.

I used to have a GPS mounted too, but when we spent a lot of time in the woods, it didn't work good at all. It kept loosing contact with the satilites.

I going on my 2nd year with the Vapor and have had good luck with it so far.

Yeah, I'm excited about the Vapor.

The main thing I want is the tachometer... well the other stuff is important also, but the tach is killer! haha.

The cool thing about the tach is that there is a sweep type meter tach and an actuall readout in numbers. Both are displayed at the same time. Along with coolant temp. Those were the two things that I got the Vapor for.

I never did hook up the speedo, don't really care how fast I'm going as long as I'm ahead of the other guy.
