are sport quads fun on trails

A lot depends on what kind of trails you are talking about.
For REALLY tight and slow trails the 400ex is a better choice. But if you are going to be riding in trails that allow you to ride around in mid 1st gear a z400 is probably just as good. And out in the open the z400 is better.

If you want something that has more power than the the wolverine take a look at a Can-Am Renegade!

SUCKS FOR YOU THEN I GUESS!!!
I did a 60 mile ride with a guy yesterday. I was on the 400EX and he was on the Polaris Scrambler. Half way thorough the day he was asking what the lightest sport quad was and how much they cost. He learned his lesson pretty well and pretty fast!!! There is no teacher, as good as actual experience!

I have owned a Z, as well as the 300EX and 400EX, and unfortunately also a Warrior. The beauty of the EX's is that they will lug down all day long. I can put mine in 1st gear, and idle through the nasty stuff. The Z likes to rev more (but nothing like the 450's rev!), so it like faster more open trails and wide open country.

We don't pull the ATVs off the Trucks and ride them until the 4wd trucks can not go any further.

sounds like a good way to get trails shut down blazing trails with trucks. but if your 4x4 buddies get stuck in the mud then why is it so bad if a sport quad that weighs about 200lbs less gets stuck in the same spot??

It's the best sport trail quad out there!
