The best trail quads of all time are the Honda 300EX and 400EX! The 300 is a little smaller, so it fits between the trees a little easier, but if you are a bigger guy, then go with the 400.

If you want to blow by your buddies on the 400ex's get the Z400 It's the best sport trail quad out there!

A lot depends on what kind of trails you are talking about.

For REALLY tight and slow trails the 400ex is a better choice. But if you are going to be riding in trails that allow you to ride around in mid 1st gear a z400 is probably just as good. And out in the open the z400 is better.

What trails? On our trail any 2wd will have to be towed throw many sections even some of the 4wd ATVs need help.

Yes Sport quads make great trails machines I am fortunate enough to have both a 4x4 and a sport quad. I will ride my sport quad about 90% of the time and will go about where any 4wheel dr. can except for the deepest mud pits and snow falls! See pics! The Raptor for me is so much more of a joy to ride there is allways power on tap for any situation and I love to be able to throw the quad around vs the quad trowing me around. Good luck with your purchase!

If you want something that has more power than the the wolverine take a look at a Can-Am Renegade!

SUCKS FOR YOU THEN I GUESS!!!

I did a 60 mile ride with a guy yesterday. I was on the 400EX and he was on the Polaris Scrambler. Half way thorough the day he was asking what the lightest sport quad was and how much they cost. He learned his lesson pretty well and pretty fast!!! There is no teacher, as good as actual experience!

I have owned a Z, as well as the 300EX and 400EX, and unfortunately also a Warrior. The beauty of the EX's is that they will lug down all day long. I can put mine in 1st gear, and idle through the nasty stuff. The Z likes to rev more (but nothing like the 450's rev!), so it like faster more open trails and wide open country.

Well if the trail is that tame in your country side. I would just use my car, than a ATV.

We don't pull the ATVs off the Trucks and ride them until the 4wd trucks can not go any further.

sounds like a good way to get trails shut down blazing trails with trucks. but if your 4x4 buddies get stuck in the mud then why is it so bad if a sport quad that weighs about 200lbs less gets stuck in the same spot??
