No! The 660's are tipsy. They made them narrow and the radiator is up high, so the center of gravity is way up high in the frame somewhere. God only knows what Yamaha was thinking on this one. Pass it up unless you are prepared to spend some money to widen it.

i wouldn't just count the raptor out so fast its a good quad yes it may be a little higher than everything else out there but is still one of the most comfortable trail bikes ever. it would ride much smoother than a 400 and i wouldnt see any point in widening it out unless your gunna race widening will only make it harder through trails

Reliability issues alone for the 660 should rule it out totally.

great trail bike, but do need to widen the rear. i have an 04 660r and i added 6" width to the rear and made a huge difference. not tippy anymore.

A friend of mine just bought one. He loves it but I haven't rode it yet. Now I'm anxious to give it a go.

hmmm. such as? I have a 660 from 01-present. Motor has been pretty reliable for me. Enough so that I didn't hesitate to get the new 700.
Wolverine: $2500 is pretty steep for this current market. You need to find out what all is on that atv, motor work, cams, suspension upgrades, etc.
I have seen used 700s for 3 grand around here that are better then the 660.

Several of my friends jumped at the 660 when it first came out. All of them were sold off before they were 6 months old! That should telll you something.....

That is 100% opinion. I think the 660s are one of the most uncomfortable machines EVER. Every turn I feel like it's going to flip.
