What happened to the 300ex?
#11
I just ended up with a 94 TRX300ex in lieu of monies owed to me.
Just getting this thing up to speed mechanically and it's been interesting to say the least.
She's running but needs some work. The whole multi-cable clutch lever setup is interesting though the previous owner removed it and has a generic clutch only setup. Cables for reverse and parking brake were removed.
Need to find a PDF manual for this thing if possible.
Other than needing some serious "correct" fixes and doing away with the sub-par jury-rigging, she should be a fun little quad.

They aren't on the Honda sport quad lineup currently, were they discontinued a long time ago or something? I find it strange that people would want the 250x over the 300ex power wise. I can't find any info on it online, so what's the deal? Where did the tried and true 300ex go?

haha this thread was from 2013 so 7 years ago. But actually a good point because they removed the 300ex in 2012 and then the 400ex and trx 450 both in 2014 which was a dumb decision. Anyway I have a trx 450.. Personally seems difficult from such a large engine difference.. 450s are race bikes with high compression and high power, putting 450 parts into a 300 might not be a great idea
