Z400 chain breaks?

I think ill buy a good o ring chain. My swing arm bearings are good i think. My chain had the perfect amount of play

Make sure the chain tension adjustment is equal, the Suzuki set up is a bit hard to get even, and if it is crooked even a little, it will fling chains and cause problems. you have to get both side exactly the same or the sprocket will be at a slight angle to the chain, which will cause excessive wear and make it easier for the chain to roll off the sprocket.
