Default Stock Trx400ex

Hey everybody.
I'm new here. I just bought a stock 2013 400ex from a man. It runs good, but it's a little slow compared to what I want lol. Any suggestions to make it get more speed?

Well...we need a baseline to start with. Is it 100% stock with regards to motor/exhaust/gearing/tires?

When you say "slow", is that at all throttle positions or is it slow off the start/mid-range/top-end?

And...what are you comparing the "speed" too? Another 400EX or something else?

Default 100% stock

the bike is 100% stock from head to toe. It's not really slow on the jump, but it could use a boost. I want it to be faster at full throttle and at the start. Thanks for the help

OK...well, first question - what's your budget?

I ask because in order to get more pull off the line and higher top end speed you'll need more than a gearing change (relatively cheap). You'll need a bit more HP which equates to air filter/jetting/exhaust/gearing at a minimum to adding motor work on the high end of the cost range.

The gearing & right pipe can increase the bottom end pull, but to offset the gearing you'll need more RPM which means more HP to get back what the gearing change steals and then some to go faster...

A trade-off is cheap...to have it all, not so cheap...
