How to endo?
#2
samhonda,
You're thinking of what we call "looping" the bike out(going too far with a wheelie). An endo is when the front wheels stay on the ground and the back wheels come up and over verticle, thus pitching the rider off like a catapault. This is what happens when you grab a handful of front brake on a steep down hill.
You could in theory make a "wheelie bar" for your machine and basically ride forever, but you have to consider what's going on with the motor. On a wet sump machine, the oil will flow back to the transmission gears (good for the transmission, bad for the crank, piston, valves etc..). On a dry sump machine, you are interupting the flow of oil to the vital parts of the motor. Also there is the question of fuel in the carb. The floats won't keep up with the almost verticle angle of the carb and the jets won't draw the way they're supposed to.
In short, it's fine to do the occasional wheelie, but without an extensive redesign, it would be impossible to "ride them forever".

Samhonda I've never seen a quad do a stoppie but I'm sure you could if you applied the front brakes hard enough.
And to be honest with you a wheelie bar will make you look like a . Wheelieing is a skill, a guy wheelieing without a "wheelir bar" will recieve a lot more respect than a guy with one, your basically making it look easy for anyone to do.

scramdaddy, check out my photo album. in the 400EX folder there is a pic of my friend doing a small endo and one of me doing one where i went way to far. i've been doing stoppies for 2 years now and i've got the tenique down pretty good. i've flipped a blaster and that 400 doing endos. also i can e-mail you a video i have of this guy on a banshee that does a stoppie and flips over the bars. its really funny.

yeah scram i can imagine it is hard with your scrambler. i know they are heavy plus the front struts. if you ever get the chance to try it on a quad that can do it just be careful. i suggest a blaster. they are so light that you can stop it from tipping by throwing your front leg over the fender and holding it up with one leg. thats what i did then i just pushed it back onto 4 wheels. if you do do one people will think your awesome. especially if your trying to impress some broads lol

lol. well now u know a good way to do it. get practicin! throw your self forward till your knees hit the fenders at the same time slam the brake. if you do it right u might be able to lift up the rear of your scram. and if u can get some1 else to let you try it on their quad go for it. just remember to pull in the clutch before you do anything if its a manual.

Thanks for the replies guys, I know what an endo is, I am very familiar with pushbikes, (bit of a legend acttually) just ikdding, but that is endo-ing a 15 kilo frame, what about a 160kilo one?. I never thought of what wheelying forever would do to my bike, thanks. Perth is in australia.
