#1
I'm gonna by a new quad next year, and I want something fast and great for trails and dunes... and something that can hold it's own in a drag...
What quad(s) should I be looking at?
Thanks,
"Bad Andy"

These are the only 3 that can hang with the DS650 in the dunes the rest are kiddie toys. He let the big dog slip his list.P.S. i only paid $5695 OTD for a brand new DS!He also forgot the mention the BANSHEE

The Banshee can definitely holds it's own on the drags and dunes.
I like my Z400, but there's no way it can compare to a Banshee in the drag or dunes.
If you do mostly trail riding, the Z400 is great. I did $32 (main jet, 2 washers to adjust needle, unifilter) in mods and it beats a 400ex ($300+ for mods: slip-on, jet kit, K&N, outerwears, 14T front sprocket) in drag and top speed.

WOW good deal! Great Price, yes the rest are kiddie toys in the dunes, i HUMILATED about 6 of those Z400's in both drags and duning. The track or tight tiny trails they may be bad but would not reccommend one for drags or real hillclimbs unless your comfortable about losing all the time

Wow you modded your LTZ400 to beat a 400ex in a drag and top speed, now there is a real check mark in the plus column! LOL

Ok I have not ridden a LTZ 400, but I ride with friends who ride 400Ex, DS 650, Banshee, LT500 Quadzilla, raptors and 250R's. We ride mostly trails and have ventured to the track on several occations. Our riding skills are all pretty close. I don't know about where you guys live but on our trails there is no passing no how no way, it don't matter who is faster or who's bike is faster there is no passing unless you are a jerk and risk crashing yourself and the quad you are trying to pass (recreational riding of course not racing). But when you get out into some open roads they all go pretty good except, you guessed it the 400EX. He eats dirt every time the minute it gets wide open. For that reason alone I would never own a 400EX and if the LTZ 400 is anything like that I would never own that either. On the track the better rider is faster not the better bike same thing in the trails but out in the open it's all bike and that thing cannot hang with any of the others. He has a big Gun exhaust, CDI, Jetted drilled airbox, works suspension, yup it handles great but it is still a dog. If we raced more often maybe I would feel different but most people I know don't race. But everyone I know jumps on it when they hit that big long straight away and when we all do it is bye bye mr EX.
I don't know about you guys but to me nothing feels worse then laying on it pegged and quads just go right around you on either side...damn that suxxxx!
