LT250R vs. TRX250R

For 85 and 86, the LT were 5 speeds.


RoostKing 99 Banshee 85 LT 250R,now its hanging on the wall...

OK, for those who don't think so, the LT250R does have a powervalve, I could show you the one on mine if you like. Its also pretty fast, I raced my cousin's new 400ex last night on pavement and I had a 3-4 quad length lead until I topped out in 6th and then he started to catch back up. I think it handles pretty good too, especially around the corners. Overall, I can't complain, considering I used to own a 99 Warrior (what a waste of money that was). What I really wanted to get was a TRX250R, but I couldn't find a good one around my area so I settled on the LT and I'm not really disappointed.

Thanks for setting that straight I knew that the LT had a Powervalve, Im also pretty certain that the Tecate has one also

No production quad has EVER HAD a powervalve or KIPS, or ATAC or what ever u like eh

I owned and raced an '88 Lt250R, It was 6 speed. If it was an early model, it may have been a 5 speed. I'm not real familiar with those.

I couldn't imagine it without 6th though. So, if is was without it, there was good reason to add it. I was just kind of scratching my head at your reply, remembering how fast mine was when I 1st got it, much less after going to the race shop. Bone stock, I beat Banshees and modified 250R's in short runs.

I was right the Tecate does have a powervalve just like the LTs , Gas Gas, Phillps Quads,
