Huh, I knew you could option whatever you wanted on the other Camaros but not the ZL1. Will have to do some more research. Have you ever drag raced yours?

 

No I don't drag race mine for 4 reasons:
1. It isn't geared right for that.
2. It has no subframe connectors added to it and I don't want to twist the body..
3. It is still low mileage 23,000 actual right now and in immaculate condition - worth a lot of $$$ the way it is. I have been offered $50,000 for it already.
4. I built the S-15 for that.... If I am going ot be tearing up stuff I had rather it be something fairly common... Even though I have people wanting my truck all the time because in Ohio a 1989 model with no rust is a rare thing to find.

One day I would love to build a 1941 ****** and put a 427 SOHC in it and drag race that... Maybe one day when I have an extra hundred grand... If I was to actually win the lottery though I would go out and buy me a 60's model GT40....

 

I have raced a late 90's mustang gt, and it wouldnt do 160. It was mostly stock and it topped out at about 130. Thats when I passed him in a stock 1990 Infinity Q45s. Fastest damn thing Ive ever had, even faster than some of my dad's vettes he used to own. Wish I still had that car.

 

Even a late 80s Mustang GT could do over 140mph, raced against an '88 to just over 140. A new Cobra will make 160mph, GT around 150mph.

 

Fastest thing I have ever driven (1/4 mile) was a Pontiac Trans-am.. I got a best time out of it - 6.80 at 201... Don't worry - I know what you are thinkin... "YEAH RIGHT"... this was not really an actual Trans-am like normal people have on the street this one ran Pro Modified on the IHRA circuit. The guy who owns it was a friend of mine and he let me drive it when I was testing for my Super Gas competition license for the NHRA... Needless to say This car was a little faster than what I needed to pass that test since they only run 9.90 in that class in the 1/4 mile.. After I got all the test passes down he readjusted the throttle stop and let me make a full throttle run with it. That Lenco transmission in it took a little getting used to....

 

Just tellin ya what happened. If you dont want to believe me, I dont really care. It was quite a rush for me![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Raced a Dodge Stealth R/T on the highway with my same car, he ran it up to about 125 and got chicken, I won that one too.

My ole GPZ went about 155mph. Mustangs used to hang till about 140-145. I had a few friends with them.
