Thanks for all the posts, you all have very good points and i am keeping an open mind.I have it down to raptor,Z-400, and predator.I am leaning towards the predator mostly because i do hope to do some local style racing but not to much. Most of this will be cross country. The only thing im worried about is polarises reliablility.Keep posting please.

Just on a side note this is the best forum i have ever been on, just wanted to say that.

Not to confuse you any further but I think the Cannondale Cannibal goes for maybe $1000 more than the KFX/Z400. Being that The Cannibal is running a 440cc motor, has EFI (no jets; just change the program), weighs about the same as the Z/KFX, and doesn't really have any design flaws you might be ahead of the pack. Being that you don't need reverse this would be another option for you.

Or you can get a Raptor and do intake/exhaust motor mods and be happy.
Or get a Z/KFX and keep looking for signs of the front shock mounts cracking and looking for that bent rear axle, then slightly modify it.
Or get a 400EX and heavily modify it and spend more than the initial price of a Cannibal or hopped up Raptor.

If you have a dealership in your area, test all 5 in person and then make your decision after all you will be the one riding it.
With that being said, I bought a KFX but would have got a Cannibal if they had reverse...

Dude,
Do yourself a favor and get a Predator. Mine kicks ***. Put a pipe on it, a set of nerfs, and a kill switch (pre-wired) and you are ready to go at local level. There is no better steering, handling, or suspension on a stock quad. I am a die- hard Honda man but with there lack of motivation I sold my EX and bought the Predator. This bike is on the next level out of the box. You have to set suspension up for you since it isn't set-up right from factory but it is awesome. I am not going to get started about power but dynos are saying42-45 stock ( with no pipe). The KFX is nice but not on same level. Check out my pics I ride with them all. 6000+Best Value= Predator.
P.S. I wish I was near a 440 EX so he could kill me...haha.

well Sport, i got a first year Raptor, and man is it a thrill. so far, no probs, but i definitely would not recommend a first year anything.
your height and weight and plans for riding conditions all matter...so shop around buddy! and buy too big! dont let some clown talk you into too small a machine that youll be unhappy with after ten minutes and pay for for 5 years. and wear yer helmet, OK?
