i figured this was the best place to post my topic rather than going to a particular brand's forum....i'm in search of the perfect fourwheeler for me. i'm 18 years old, 6'1 and weigh 180lbs. a while back i had a '98 banshee and i absolutely loved it...nothing fancy just some toomeys and a proflo kit...it wasn't my decision not to have it anymore...fact is somebody broke in my garage and stole the damn thing...it really broke my heart cuz i've always had some type of quad ever since i was like 4 years old and it feels weird not having one...i've looked at every brand...and my favorite is the new suzuki 400...being 18 with a part time job i can't spend too much money on a quad...i dont want to go down the used route been there done that...the suzuki is what has my attention right now...can u guys give me some opinions about this thing? particularly those of you who own one...keep in mind that i owned a bad *** banshee and i'm not afraid to pin the throttle through a straight away or coming off a turn...obviously the 400's not gonna be that fast...just go ahead and throw in the fact that i'd get a trinity exhaust and modify the intake a little bit as soon as i bought it...i've never owned a fourstroke before i've been a premixing kind of kid all my life...so give me the good the bad and the ugly on the suzuki...thanx alot guys..

The best? bahaha get a 250r they are the BEST. On a two stroke it dont really matter if its used. Everything you can pretty much see as far as chassis wear and what not. Its not like it would cost you an arm and a leg to rebuilt the motor anyways. Probably be a good idea anyways just to check the bore and the rod bearings.

My brother in-law has owned 5 shees and has loved everyone of them. Last summer he sold his banshee and bought a Z-400. he says he doesn't miss his banshee one bit. he claims he will never buy a 2-stroke again, & that he is 100% satisfied with his Suzuki. He loves that machine. but it is all on user prefference/terrain.

I own a Z and before it I had a 350 Big Bear. You couldn't get me back on a 4wheel drive now! To put this in perspective jt I use to road race motorcycles and then my physical health got in the way of that as well as being able to drive a car. These old bones ain't what they used to be but I still wanted something to ride so I went with the big bear thinking it would be safe not to fast and easy on me. Then mid life crisis time comes and I get this notion that I want a Hot Rod! Most men my age go for a Porsche but since I will never get my license back that was out of the picture, LOL, so then I go to a friend of mines dealership and there she sat! The most gorgeous looking White Z400! Like the song said "Just one look! That's all it took!" I had my wife take me to the store so I could see if I could find any magazines with any info on the Z and they all had something and then I remembered the issue of DW's that had Bensons tricked out Z500 in it that I had bought before. I was able to gather enough info and sift thru the BS enough to determine that the Z was going to fit the role I had invisioned. So I struck the deal ! I am very fortunate to still be able to ride and to have a really nice private area right behind the sub division I live in!
I was really impressed with the ride quality and handling of this Z and it didn't take long before I had her broadsiding thru turns in the snow! Since the snow comes and go's I have set up a course of twisting turns with a few small jumps and have had an absolute ball! My body might be older but my brain still thinks like an 18 year old and now the modifications have begun and Damn it is so much easier and cheaper to get more out of these new fandangled machines! Well, I trail ride for now but my wife and I are planning on moving to the west coast in a couple of years and most likely it will be within driving distance to Winchester Bay! Which will give me a good reason to stuff the Z with a few more ponies! LOL!
