Default KFX700 = 80+ mph

Just talked to the Service Manager at the local Dealership, he just got back from another Technical Training Course dealing with the KFX700. Here are a few things that he told me about.

The 700 is supposed to top out between 80 to 84mph. The reason for that high of a top speed is because they are trying to market it as a GNCC ready machine.

Kawasaki has added a reinforced rear pinion carrier housing. This is said to be a precausionary modification, no doubt due to the amount of Torque the motor produces.

The official list price is out, the info has been sent to the dealerships. It is the Exact same retail price as the Raptor. They should hit the dealerships some time before the end of the month.

I just saw one at a race at Glen Helen in california. It is a pretty bad looking quad.

Its tempting to trade in my 500i on this beast, then my Z would never get used, lol.

If I was a Flamer and wanted to start something, this is the part where I would say something Whitty like,

"Don't worry about what the front looks like, all you are ever going to see is the Back"

OOOPS, now look what I have gone and done. I'm a BAD BOY.

84mph because of the GNCC market????

Those sound a lot more like Desert racing speeds than GNCC.

All Stock ATV's are limited to 75mph and less.

That was supposedly an old "gentlemen's agreement" between manufacturers in the late 80's and was published by one of the magazines at the time - not so sure if it still holds true (or was ever true for that matter).

The 80 to 84 mph information came directly from the Kawi Rep that was conducting the training seminar. Whether it is wishfull thinking or not, I can't say. I am just reporting what I was told.
