Default Parts that interchange between 86 and 87+ LT250r

Actually, I thought they all had 34mm carbs.
whether that is true or not, a lot of ebay people seem to not know what they are talking about. I saw an ad for a durablue axel for a Honda 250r that would also fit a Suzuki LT250. Seems to me that is completely wrong.

Yeah i hear ya slacker, lots of misinformation out there. The 85 did have a 32mm carb though. I measured mine, and i have a suzuki manual for 85 and 86 model, and it says 32 in 85 and 34 in 86. THere were also some porting changes in the cylinder, and the original head gasket was thinner in 86. Also 4th gear was a different ratio in 86 vrs 85.

Thats interesting. I figured that the motors were essentially identical. Thats cool, something new learned. I have the manual, but never looked that up.
Something else funny on Ebay is that a part will be listed and the seller will say that it will fit all years of LT250. Like wheels, or something that obviously can't fit everything.

I know that's right!! Some of them don't have a clue. I bought a swingarm skidplate off there once for a Quadzilla supposedly - there was no picture on there for it and it was going cheap so I said "what the heck is it going to hurt to buy it". When it showed up it didn't fit the Zilla at all - I thought it looked suspiciously like a Honda 250R skidplate, so I dug through some of my swingarms to see exactly what year it fit - I was right - it fit the 1986-7 250R Honda swingarm perfectly..

Hey here is another goofy tidbit of info I found out last night... Did you know that the hubs for a 1985-1987 LT250R will also fit a Yamaha Blaster?? I am thinking about seeing if the hubs for a 300EX and 400EX will also fit the LT250R....

DirtGirl

IF the hubs from the 300ex fit the LT250r that would be sweet becuase my wife has a 300ex. I think I heard somewhere about the blaster hub swap, so it sounds right. Althought my quad is an 86 with 24 splines and the 88 and later have 26 splines. Not sure which years you are testing.

I am talking about the 1985, 86, and 87.. The 300EX also has 24 splines, so does the 400EX, Warrior, and Banshee.. The 250R Honda has 25...

I havnt tried, but I heard that the 300ex and 400ex hubs don't interchange. Did you try the hub swap between the 300ex and LT250

Nope haven't had a chance yet. Been trying to get that Blaster running. Got it to fire up tonight finally! Maybe tomorrow I will get a chance to do it. I am supposed to go riding tomorrow if it don't rain too much. We will see. I should be able to tell ya something by Tuesday though.
