Electric start/neutral switch problem?

Electric start/neutral switch problem?
I have an 82 LT230 which I can pull start but the electric start won't work. I'm guessing it has to do with the neutral/reverse switch because the neitral light won't come on eventhough it is in neutral.
I'm not sure where the switch is (if it happens to be the switch), can anyone help?
