I am now looking at the Supertrapp IDSX for the Vinson. Does anyone have this? Did they need to jet or not, I'm getting some conflicting info? How loud is it?

the only one making an after market pipe for the vinson is hmf to my knowledge. i looked all over for others but couldn't find one. mine is now jetted and piped but i haven't got it back from the dealer. i will be picking it up tuesday and let you know how it all turned out.

 

hey gmag. how did the jets and pipe turn out. i was thinking about doing the same to my vinson and i was wondering if you can really tell the difference.

 

i got the machine back with the new hmf pipe and jetting and beat the heck out of it for a few days now. woo hoo!!!!!!! unreal difference!!!!! lots of low end torque in 1st and 2nd gear, mid range power wasn't as noticable and top end remained about the same. very impressed though with low end...turns those big 27" gators over just fine now but i am dumping the 27" and dropping back to 26" and this should make the mid range alot better. anyone interested in a set of 27" gators with just over 300 miles on them e mail me at gmag2506@aol.com. will also trade for 26" tires in same condition.

 

I heard on here the 27" tires raise hell with the CV Joints. I have been thinking about a set of 26's or 27" also.....Mud Lites. How does the HMF sound? Is it quiet?

 

as for the exhaust being quiet......its loud and makes the vinson sound like a harley davison. i am still a little concerned about the 27" tires though.

 

you can pay $10 extra and get a quiet coil for the hmf. you can take it out and put it in if you want it quieter. i'm not sure how quiet it makes it. does yours have one gmag?

 

you are right about the hmf having a quiet core but according to the dealer who installed mine the core does very little to quiet down the machine. mine does not have the quiet core.
