Default Zilla a good deal

I am looking at an add for a zilla:

1989 LT500R Suzuki Quadzilla Quadracer

This is a 1989 Quadzilla 500. It runs great and is very fast. It has an FMF fatty pipe and core silencer. Other than that, it is stock. There are a few tears on the bottom edge of the seat, but nothing major. I also have an extra set of polished aluminum rims and tires that go with the machine

seems like a good deal for like 1500-1700 isnt that a bit of a steal. It has some pics and looks pretty good I am aranging to go out and see it this weekend

That's a fairly good deal provided that it's not beat up / molested, etc.
There are many shortfalls on these machines, so be careful!
If the motor has had a bunch of mods... depending on who did the work... could be less than optimal.
cracks/repairs on the frame, cracks on swingarm near chain slider... but mostly motor concerns.

Does it have good compression? excessive vibration? starts good? You should be able to tell whether it's had a rough life or not..
It's fairly expensive to completely rebuild from top to bottom, but in my opinion... well worth it.

Good luck!

If you can go look at it closely...... I say that cause its always better to see it in person. I would take it for a spin also. Feel the quad out..... like feel for abnormal vibrations, sounds and wobbles. It could be one of those deals where its TOO good to be true. Go look at though. I know I'm talkin to ya like your no brainer but I just don't want fellow atver's to get took.
