Default Vinson in a class by itself

I just went riding yesterday with a friend that has a brand new Polaris 5oo h.o. It truly is a shame that more "die hard" fans of either honda, yamaha or polaris are not giving the Vinson a serious look. Not only did I out do the polaris on a climb up a gravel road but the overall feel, handling and looks of the Vinson were just superior. Period. I am really not in into the brand rah rah thing. If someone else has a good product, I will be the first to give them a thumbs up. However, I feel that in time, the Vinson will be the industry standard for the 500 class. To all those that are experiencing problems with brakes, transmissions, etc. realize that this machine has only been out there for 2 years now. Whatever problems you are having get them fixed and enjoy your machine: it simply is the best thing out there. Pastor

I to was a "die-hard" Honda fan whenever I bought my Vinson, but I've kicked myself everyday for not buying another Honda!Mine has been nothing but trouble. As soon as I get settled with Suzuki I will have another Honda.I'm not bashing on the Vinson by any means,it is a VERY nice bike and has ALOT of great features, but reliability is not 1 that my Vinson has.

Sorry to hear this. I truly have not heard this from anyone. I can understand some problems because this model is still in it's fledgling mode...2 years old. However, there is NO machine out there can touch this. I have test driven them all...nothing is close.

Default Vinson in a class by itself

Good day all,
I recently purchased 2 Vinsons for my wife and myself. Mine is the 5 speed and hers an auto. There is no comparison in performance, The 5 speed is much faster and more responsive than the auto. She still likes the auto for the simplicity in riding. (we are both new to the sport) The third time out riding, I broke the fan on the 5 speed and have been waiting for three weeks for it to come in. I also had the dealer adjust the valves for the first service and now when I start the bike first thing in the morning, I get a high pitched knocking that only lasts a few seconds and then goes away. They have supposedly listened to it for a few starts and claim there is nothing out of the ordinary. My concern is that it did not make the noise before the adjustment was made. Any ideas?

Well if it was me and I knew that something was wrong with it I would tell them I dont wont the damn thing until the knocking is gone! I hate some Dealer Mechanics they dont try to find out what the problem is, I would tell them to disassemble the Engine if they have to, to find out what it is. Anyway is a Knocking or a Ticking? Usually Ticking is the Valves Unadjusted and knocking can be the Piston hitting the cylinder wall on cold days, but i would still take it back to them and make them fix it.
