27" tires for vinson 5 spd
#1
I was wondering if anyone has had 27" tires on vinson 5 spd before. I want to get ITP mudlites but the floor board supports limit the tire size. Is there a way to get large diameter tires on a vinson 5 spd or should I just keep them stock?

i have a 2003 vinson 5 spd and have 27" gators on it and have blown 2 front axels in less than 300 miles just doing yard work and nothing stressful. be careful about the warranty it may be voided if you run oversized tires according to their claims.

I also have a '03 5 spd. with 27" 589's, I have "snapped" two front left CV's under moderate snow use. With less than 200 miles I'm not to impressed. I love the bike's power, but that might be the problem when you hook up with 27" tires.

?????? by chance were you in reverse when your axels went because i saw another post with broken axels on a vinson that had happened when he was in reverse and both times i snapped mine i was in reverse

I am running 26" gators on stock rims on my 03 vinson and have had no problems so far. I have put them through some nasty stuff too. do You think the extra inch makes that much of a difference or should I expect problems also? Its a 5 speed

I am totally new to the utility side of things. Why would the c-series wheels rub when the stock ones won't? Is it because of the offset? How is it different? What about a c-series with a 26 inch tire and the manual Vinson (or Eiger for that matter)? If I get an Eiger 4x4 manual, I would like to run 26 inch mudlights on a c-series wheel. Is that possable?

The C-Series are a 1" wider than the stockers, therefore you have more offset about 3/4" I believe. Not sure if 26's will work or not?I guess it depends on how wide of a 26 you go with. Not sure what will work on the Eiger,I've never had any dealings with this bike!
