That's a tough one!! Usually you will have to sacrafice one for the other, low end for top end. Not sure what the solution is but I think Alba recommends 13/41 as the best combo. Hopefully someone can help ya.

13/41 would be a much lower end power combo. If I were you and wanted more topend- go with a 15 tooth front sprocket. Try it and see how that goes.

Here's a handy chart to come up with different final gear ratios.
http://www.coolskunk.com/ratio_chart.htm

I would also recommend the 13/40 or 41 combo over the stock 14/41. The stock Z doesn't have enough power to pull to redline in 5th gear anyway. In those taller gears it just doesn't have enough useable power to make them useful for accelerating. Dropping to the 13/40 will allow the quad to pull a little easier through those gears because the torque multiplication has been increased at the rear wheels. However you will take about a 2-3mph topend speed hit due to the new gearing. With this gear setup you should be able to reach the rev. limiter in 5th at about 68-70mph. You probably can't do any better then that speed right now with your stock gearing and power level.
