I want to get a 12.2:1 pistion and an ignition with advanced timing. If I run 91 octane am I going to get per-detonation????stock is 11:1 and I'm only running 87 and I dont have any problems what so ever. What do you guys think???

The advanced timing does not require a bump in octane, but with the 12.2:1, I recommend at least running 93 octane. A small mix of race gas (maybe 3 gallons of pump 93 to 1 gallon of race) could help. Listen for a ping inside of the engine, and if you hear this, its time to bump it up. Stock is 11.3:1 by the way.
I know of people with the DRZ base gasket which bumps up compression to 12.2:1 and some run pump, some run race. Good luck!
