Suzuki makes reliability changes in the production run. Axles were taken care of as soon as they knew a problem exsisted. Same thing with the frame. The main weak part of the frame is the upper shock mounts. I have seen some the later model Z's and the welds look better but that is all they have done to the shock mounts. No extra gusset. I highly doubt the other weak spots have been addressed being that most are having problems at the upper shock mounts.
My Z is one year old (53 hours) and I have some paint chipping (does not mean cracked) at the upper shock mounts, but that is also where I place my tie-down hooks for transporting. I don't jump big. Have not crashed it. Ride lots of wheelies. I know that within a couple years I will have to do something with the frame but right now it is still good for my use.
If you are that worried about the frame you can either have the frame gusseted, buy a new frame from an aftermarket company or just buy a different machine.

If you still get one and are worried about it and want to get it gusseted or think about buying an aftermarket frame try getting a good welder to go over the welds first and gusett them. You will save 100's of dollars and it is just as good as what lonestar or whoever does for $700.00.

Hey there queertease, dang it I mean qwerty. I read your other post that says you're going to make me look ignorant well you're doing a heck of a job, keep it up. Why don't you use some of your vast knowledge to help some of these people with their questions instead of ragin on their bikes. I know most of you knowledge is about g*y **** and rectal lubricants but hey whatever floats a guys boat, I guess. I ride my bike plenty hard to have got a crack in the frame if it was faulty but hey, if you want me to ride it as hard as you do your neutered chiawawa I'm sorry I just can't seem to do it. But in all seriousness kiss my a@@ you better squash this beef you've got with me or maybe I'll make you look ignorant, it don't seem to be to hard to do since you seem to be helping me.
