Does an LTZ 250 perform better than others in its class. Also does it have a good frame i heard the LTZ 400 was braking the shock mounts off.

The only other quad that is really in its class is the 250ex. The z 250 does everything a little bit better than the 250ex. The blaster, 300ex, and mojave are sportier machines that are in a sportier class. The blaster has a 2 stroke motor, chain drive, kickstarter, and a 6 speed manual tranny. The mojave has a liquid cooled motor, chain drive, dual over head cams, kickstarter, and a 5 speed manual tranny. The 300ex has a 280cc motor, chain drive, electric start, and a 5 speed manual tranny. The machines in the sportier class will be quicker and more of an intermediate quad. The z250 is a great beginner quad but if you want a quad that will hold it's own on trails with larger displacement utilities and other intermediate sport quads I would suggest one of the sportier quads.

I don't think that the z250 uses the same frame as the z400. I could be wrong though.

The Z is in the sportier class it has great top end excelleration even better than the blaster and the 300ex the 250ex is horrible I agree but I raced a 2003 blaster on a flat track and I ate it up, the Blaster has horrible suspension and a short wheel base so it cant take turns as good as the well balanced Z. I went trail rideing with my son in law and he rode the new and not approved mojave while I rode my Z250 his has a higher top speed than the Z but that is important seeing that you rarely come out of 4th gear on a race track

ATV Rider Magazine just did a comparison of the Honda 250EX, the Suzuki Z250, the Kawasaki Mojave and the Yamaha Blaster.

The results were that out of 10 test riders of varying skill levels, 7 of them chose the Z250 as their #1 pick.

The Z250 does not use the same frame as the Z400. The Z250 is based on the Ozark frame, which has proven itself to be one tough ATV. If you are looking for a good all-around 250cc class Sport Quad, you really should give the Z250 a good hard look. It's a Great looking, Excellent Performing (For a 250cc), Easy to ride Sport Quad.

LMAO. zlover do you really think that the z has more top end power than the two stroke blaster. Also the blaster is 800 bucks cheaper than the z and it has hydro disk brakes. And with that extra 800 bucks you could get front and rear works shocks. I think that the blaster is a better quad for the money. Also their is no such thing as a sport quad with an auto clutch and drive shaft.

I can't seem to find this rule anywhere in my "Sport Quad Ruel Book", Volume 2. Maybe it was in Volume 1? Oh well, I guess I will just have to give up and go for a ride on my Auto/Shaft drive KFX700.

The Z250 is a great little sport quad. It handles very well and hits the niche it was intended for right on. It is best as a kids starter/beginner sport quad or a wife who ain't really super gung-ho about sport riding quad too. That doesn't mean an experienced rider can't have fun on it, but it is only a 250 4-stroke. I recommend it for anyone with a responsible young rider to get him/her into the sport quad scene!
BTW, the frame looks beefy and has reinforcing in all the right places. I don't think you will be able to jump it like a Z-400, the suspension just isn't there.
