Default Brand New Eiger- Engine Is "Ticking"

Hi Guys,

2003 Eiger 4x4 Automatic- 2 weeks old- Love It!!!

The engine "ticks"- sounds like B-Bs dancing on a piece of sheet metal. Don't know much about engines (can ya tell?). What is this?

Thanks,
Bill

Mine did this - usually at idle or low speed. Turned out that a lock washer on the auto-clutch shaft was installed backwards. The nut on the end of the shaft would loosen and retighten - It could not come off as it would hit the housing first. Dealer set it right and no noise since.

The only reason I would sway towards something else is the machine is only 2 weeks old. It would seem odd to me that a brand new machine would come with the valves out of adjustment. (This is a new 2003 and not a used one, yes?)

My Z does the ticking thing as well but I'm sure that it's just the valves needing adjusted.(mainly when warm)..
My dealer will take care of it when I take it in for it's first service....
Hope it turns out that that's all yours needs........

Just came across this on a Eiger search. Just in case you haven't seen this recall for the semi-auto.

It's about a nut coming loose that secures the clutch shoe. I realize this was an older topic but it might be new to someone.
