Lord help us, these kids!
The only thing a Blaster and a Z250 have in common is SOMEWHAT similar displacement. Both are great quads aimed at different markets. Just to inject a common sense, logical question into the debate, why would you race a Blaster at $3000 new when you could pick up a nice used 400ex or Banshee for the same $$$ and have something halfway competitive and race proven? Folks who want a Z250 sure don't want a 2-stroker kickstart quad I can assure you. Z250 and 250ex {Lakota too} buyers are looking out for a low maint. trail quad for fun, usually for a younger or novice rider. The Blaster does not fill that bill very well. Two stroke quads are a blast and have a definite place in quad history but are an apple and orange type comparison to the newer small displacement auto-clutch quads that are coming out recently. Not knocking anyones ride as they are ALL great fun, but I'm afraid the 2-strokers are going the way of the dinos before too long. The ATV market is rapidly evolving and getting better for the consumer everyday!

Hey roosthrower,,you come in here and ask for our opinion and when you don't get the answers you want you insist on calling (me) a retard,,,,,,well,,,,you can kiss my a$$ you silly little ba$tard...
If you don't like what you read,,,,,,,fine,,,,,don't come back....
I'm not sure why everyone thinks that the only people that buy these 250 class bikes are beginers or novice riders,,,,,I'm 37 years old and don't want to spend a lot of money on a quad as I don't ride enough to justify that,, but I do want one sitting in the garage for when I do get together with the guys to go riding...As for racing I have no interest in it at all,,,,all I want to do is to go ride some trails and around the camp grounds,,so I choose an easy to maintain bike that still has a somewhat sporty feel to it(for when us old guys get rowdy) and for roosthrower,,,,one that I do not have to kick start,,,it' bad enough having to kick start my mini bike....
And one more thing,,,,,I would'nt have a Blaster up my a$$ let alone under my a$$......

theres blasters and a few z250's and 250ex's and small displacement quads that putt around the gravel pits out here but even though i rip on the blaster alot id say it is a hell of a lot better and im a bigger rider and i stiil take it over the z anyday, the blaster was made for people who are more less just starting with sport quads but still want a kick, Z250 is for the 12yr olds so they can trail ride with there dad! or its for the wife who cant ride a clutch! its lame why bother make a wanna be sport like that when you can buy a ozark? there the same just one looks like a wussy sport ....just my .02

I wouldn't say a Z250 is just for 12 year olds and wives that can't ride clutch. I can ride clutch but the Z250 fits my budget better. I'm 15 and I have a Z250 and love it. As a matter of fact I'm modifying it to race in the GNNC sport class next year. I'm I teenager so I can't afford to spend $5000 on a Z400 and then modify it to race, so for me the Z250 fits my budget with some money left over.
