ALternitve engines

I installed an early KX500 (the one without the powervalve) in a Lt250. If your is an 87 or later it damn near bolts in. If it is 85/86 then you just have to modify the bar that comes down in front of the engine for exhaust pipe clearance.
Did it vibrate?
Hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like nothing you could ever even dream of.
Made special mounts out of polyurethane and it was fixed. very smooth for a 500. almost as smooth as LT500
Was it fast??
YYaahhhh!!!!!!!!
would I do it again?
no, unless I had a good rolling chassis with no eng. then maybe if I couldn't sell it for enough.

What year Lt do you have? I'd look for a motor from an LT. Unless you have machinist/fabrication skills a motor swap can be a handfull. getting the motor in isn't usually the prob. Its the exhaust, and inytake and drivability problems mostly. It can be done. It takes time and patience. What kind of budget do you have?

I would also suggest looking for a stock LT motor. You will probably be happier. or maybe a lt500? Those have counterbalancers so no vibration and you can get the pipe allready made from those clowns at CT. They make them but I couldn't get one out of them. Come to think of it, I couldn't get anything out of them accept the run around.
