I’ve heard of people boring them to .100" to get 530CCs and also heard they can be bored up to .140" but have never seen a piston listed above .080".

I haven't seen an answer to this question. I am also in need af a piston and rings and will be looking for someplace to buy one. I brought a quadzilla back to life from it's burial in the back of a field. It was in pieces and covered in Bird dung. After many trips to the hardware store for screws, coil, fuel line, paint, excitor coil it lived. After about 6 laps it stalled so I (picked the bugs out of my teeth first ) then I looked at the spark plug to find a gray plug and small aluminum beads. After taking the head off I found a piston and head that looks like someone sand blasted it with huge sand pellets. My next step is to replace the piston and rings and polish the head(maybe machining 10-20 from the head while I am at it. My question is how do I know which way to turn the stator plate?I think my timing is advanced causing me to burn the piston.(this was one of the original probs. I replaced the excitor coil and put the staor plate back in to the lines)Do I turn clockwise or counter clock wise to decrease the advanced timing?
Other questions: With .80 over what plug should I be using and what is the recomended fuel oil mix.

Awesome machine : The only thing that saved my life were the bald tires.Of course once I get it running right a new set of hoops will be added.

on the zilla , clockwise is advance . the stator plate has a mark on it and so does the case half . they should line up for top dead center . im at 60 over and run the ngk br8eg or egv plug .

Thanks for the info. I would have guessed that clockwise would be the opposite.Unfortunatly I took off the jug last night and found a smoked piston and rings. The piston looks real bad like it was sand blasted with BB's. Pretty deep at some points I guess aprox .40" deep. I plan to buy a piston, rings gasket,bushing,etc...I will polish the head out but the sleeve is real smooth.
Not knowing the oil gas mix I used my sons (LEM 50) gas at 32.1
Is this to lean?
I did have the lines lined up on the stator does it sound like I was running advanced?
How much play should my connecting rod have?Mines about 1/8 from side to side?
