Hmmmmmmmmmm...Z400 more powerful than a LT250R???? I won't knock the Z400 because they are nice quads and also I have never ridden one, and I won't bash anyone or any quad, but I do know that the quadracer is faster. Which is better would be a personal preference. Do you prefer a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke? Do you plan to modify it or keep a stock quad? (very unlikely you will find a totally stock LT250R). Like I said, I haven't ridden a Z400 but I have rode many 400EX's and I hear handling is comparable on the two, so I would say that the Z400 handles a little better than the LT250R.
I think that if all you're worried about is drag racing that the LT250R would be cheaper and easier, but if you're into MX the Z400 may be a better option due to the handling. I am not saying that the LT250R cannot MX because I have done so for many years, and yes, they are very competitive with the proper mods.

 

stock the Z400 is better because it is faster and more powerfull but if your adding stuff to the 250r the
250r would be better because you can add more stuff to it than any other quad and therefore it would depend on how much you would add to the 250 .

 

You are mostlikely correct in a short drag a Modified 250 can beet a stock Z400 but in the real world on long runs I bet the Z400 will leave the 250 in the dust. And will not run out of gas at the end LOL.
