Z400 custom intake

Default look at my

I made a custom intake today it was fairly easy works with both stock carb and frc. provides much straighter airflow which greatly increases power. what do you think? there is pics of it on my photo page

Nice work man. How exactly did you make it? Have you riden with it like that yet? How is it?

it was very easy to make all i did was buy a big rubber boot that fit the carb opening on one side abd was the same side as the filter opening on the other. then i got a piece of tubing which slid into the boot and the filter just clamps down on to tube. I have ridden it like that it does fine i have it ziptied tot he shock mount hold just fine. the cdi was mounted to the box but it was easily relocated.

Hows the engine perform now? How much of a difference did it make?

it gave it noticeably more power and also required some rejetting

I might try that when I get a filter and exhaust, thanks for the tip man. Where in Washington are you at? Im in Vancouver, right across the river from Portland Oregon.

good to c fellow wash riders that looks like a good mod for me i hate the way the fcr fits with my airbox now
