King Quad's any good?
#1
Hi all, I'm in the market for a good reliable machine that will plow deep snow and be great in the bush going to the hunt camp. I don't need anything that will win races. There is a '94 King Quad 300 4x4 for sale locally and the guy says it's the one of the best workhorses of all time... is it a good machine for what I want to do with it? Thanks for your replies.

King Quads are very capable 4x4's. With good tires its 3 range transfer case and differntial lock I'm sure it would push a whole lot of snow. Being only a 280cc it will also get good gas mileage. The design is a bit dated but it is tried and true.

The King Quad is a great workhorse and will suit your purpose. My brother-in-law purchased a 1991 King Quad for the same reason. 15,000 miles later, it is still running, but he started riding trails for pleasure also. Plows snow in WI in the winter and also to get to hunting camp.
I had a 1995 King Quad for six years and it ran great. Just wanted a better trail bike with larger engine.

I will repeat what the other guys said. The K.Q. is a great little machine. Not only that it will fit the bill that you want. One of the best utility quads ever made. Probably do everything you want and more.

I purchased a 1995 new and ran it hard, moved a lot of Michigan snow with it. I did make two mistakes on the first one. I bought a 1,000# winch instead of the 1500. The other was that I bought the Cycle Country "V" Plow. Great unit, but a bit thin and flimsy. A call to Cycle Country on the problems and they were kind enough to make me a great deal on a scratch and dent 60" plow. Thgouh I never found the scratch they said was there, it was a great plow. I gave that one to my father shorly before he passed away as the dealership made me a great deal on a 2001 and now run that. Better tires and tool location, but basically the same thing. I may never buy another Suzuki as in my eyes they really screwed upo by discontinuing this model which in my eyes had it all. Full true differential lock, and the fact that they failed to see the potential for the exact setup in a 400 -500 quad. If you can stil lget one that runs, you will not be disapointed. But what do I know, I have only had them for almost 10 years now.
