Z400 lighting question
#2
There may be an extra lighting stator on it, i think the 400ex's have one. If your bike does then all you would have to do is get a voltage regulator and hook the lights up to the extra cicuit. putting 2 extra 35 watt lights on the existing lighting cicuit may have some negative affects, i.e. the charging system

called Ricky Stator and have a new stator on order, it will allow another 75 watts, so any time your riding at night and you see/hear a thumper coming with four lights its probably me

I run two 35 watt PIAA lights on mine with no problems. I custom made a titanium bracket that mounts to my handlebar bracket from underneath so they turn with the bars. They have they're own switch so I can turn them on seperately with or without the stock ones on. They work great!! See my photo page for pics......

how long have you tryed running the Stock ones and your PIAA's. Just a Few hrs at a time or
do they all work fine if you run them all night long multiple days.

I ran them a couple nights in a row off and on and haven't had any problems yet. I'm gonna try running all of them for awhile and measure the voltage at the battery and see what I got. They don't seem to dim at all but ya never know. The real test will be this winter when I ride alot, it's too damn hot now!!

Since I designed it mine was free. I had the lights already from ebay ($59.00, great deal!! ) I'll talk to my buddy and see how much to make some more and I'll let you know. Anybody else interested? Set-up time is costly so I may have him make a couple extra just in case......... brackets that is, no lights.
