Default loose axle on ozark

i have some up to down play on my rear axle, side to side it is fine though. is this a huge problem, or can it get one more ride on it? also is it fixable without taking to a shop? thanks

Sounds like a problem that you want to fix before you ride again.are you sure it's the axle and not the rear shock mount?

yeah its the axle, i just need to know how to tighten it. the race quads have the 2 nuts that you tighten but i think these are inside the casing and i dont know how to get that bushing off or get to the nut. i would like to fix it myself because i was planning on going on a trip next week and the shops around by us would never get to it in that amount of time. so i guess if i cant get it fixed im still riding it-if anyone knows anything about the ozark axle please help me out, thanks

Where is the play? If its not side to side, it can't be tightend because its a bearing. The 2 bolts you are thinking of hold the carrier tight inside the swingarm. The carrier turns to adjust the chain. I wouldn't ride it if there is considerable play.

Replacing the carrier bearings is the only way.
