Default Need LT250R Exhaust help !!!

I have recently ordered a FMF Fatty pipe and a Power Core II Silencer for my 1989 LT250R. After ordering, I learned that the installation requires the original "Mid pipe" (tube between pipe and muffler). My existing exhaust system is a custom made kludge and I don't have the original "Mid pipe". I called the Suzuki dealer and this part has been discontinued. Anyone know where I could find one ??

if your talking about the rubber piece that goes around to stop premix from coming out just use some hi temp engine gasket sealer.

No, not the rubber piece. This is a steel tube 12 to 18" long (with a couple slight bends) that goes from the "goes out" end of the head pipe(pipe) to the "goes in" end of the silencer (muffler)

Do you have the silencer yet? The FMF silencers on my 86 and 91 Lt’s are both one piece with the midpipe.

The 85-86 models had a round muffler and a midpipe as separate pieces stock, but I'm pretty sure the 87-92 models all had the ultra ugly utility looking square muffler stock and I believe it came as one piece with the midpipe.

Usually parts guys dont know anything but what the computer says, so if the part is not in there they assume it once existed but is no longer in production. You may have been given bad info.

After looking at the diagram myself, I suspect your right. There is no midpipe on the 87 - 92's. I hope the tech support at FMF was just confused when he said I needed the original midpipe. My guess is that the Silencer comes with the pipe that will extend all the way to the pipe, like the original. I'll wait till it comes in before I worry about it any more. Once again, this fourm is a better source for information that dealers or vendor "Tech Support".

Thanks very much.
