Default hmmm Suzuki Twin Peaks????

Did you hear that next years ninja's, r6's etc are going to be single cylinders? Didnt think so. In time everyone will have more twins. There is no comparison over the entire powerband when you compare a single to a twin. I am not talking peak numbers.

I am sure someone will come out with a light mx twin someday, comparing the Rapter to the kfx is silly. Apples and Oranges.
Now imagine that Rapter with the Prairie motor and a 6 speed. Maybe 20lbs heavier but DAMN!!

Well MegaCrash, I don't want to argue with you on this one but I'm not sure what you mean by a real race track? I do know that the V Force is doing very well in the gncc races and the Prairies dominate the utility class in the gncc. My 650 Prairie won every hare scramble we entered in the utility class and at the last race we were passing 2 wheel drive sport machines and landing on the down side of a 40 ft table top! The V Force's that were there were clearing the table top!! It would run 68 mph all day long and right after I did some of the mods that were done to it I had it up to 71 mph! These were GPS speeds, the speedometer read slightly faster! I have since traded it off for a 700 Prairie and right off the showroom floor it ran 65 mph. We have not raced it yet but I did enter it into an ATV pull which was filled with Suzuki's, Yamaha's, Polaris's, and Honda's! I had the only Kawasaki there and guess who won,,, I out pulled them all by 12 ft! We will be racing it in the 12 Hours of ATV America race October 25th. The quad that won the 12 hour race in the utility class last year was,,, you guessed it,, Penland Brothers Team Green on a 650 Prairie! All I'm saying is that all the manufactures out there have both good and not so good quads out there and there are several that would make better racing machines but the V700's and the 700Prairies that are out there are winning alot of the real races they are in.

Im guessing if Suzuki does build a 700cc sport quad its going to be automactic. If it would be a manuel it would have tons of torque, automactic and manuel options would be nice.

If Kawie lightened the V-force and put a 5 or 6 speed on it I would buy it. Even a manual, chain driven V-force would be a killer machine. Then you could change the gearing easily. The biggest downfall for serious performance potential on the V-force is the shaft and the auto. With the engine mods available (bolt on alone) I feel that the V- force with its current frame and weight would smoke most machines with the chain and manual changes. Even my mighty DS650 baja X would be given a run for its money! ARE YOU LISTENING KAWASAKI!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!

Grizzjeeper,
On the street the weight of the engine is acceptable because you’re only riding in a 2 dimensional situation.
In the dirt you get that 3rd dimension of up and down thrown in. They have never made a twin MX bike and never will for the exact reasons I’m talking about. The extra weight would never be worth the higher revving engine.
Prairiewrench,
Don’t take anything I’m saying personally. Sometimes I just like to argue for the sake of arguing. I could just as easily support your view point.

I just wish the timing could be advanced easily so that we can make the power we are supposed to. Think 65 HP and maybe 70 HP with mods. Get an 800cc big bore and maybe 80 HP? Get some clutch mods to help the top speed and it will destroy even that pesky new Yami. Thats all from a heavy weight quad, 118 lbs over the raptor.

I too wish they would make an option for a 5 or 6 speed version of the V-Force, that would be heaven. It would totally spank the competition.

Isnt it all about power to weight ratios? IE. my ZX6R is 117 HP at 375LBS dry, Figure out a way to get those numbers in a quad and look out. Won't happen with a single. There is only so much power you can make with a single.

A KTM 520SX weighs around 220 and makes over 55 horse, roughly the same as your street bike ratio. Bump the engine up to 650 and it would easilly exceed your ratio.
