1985 lt 250r rear shock question.
#1
hello,.
i am in proccess of working on the rear suspension on an 85 lt250r, this stle has no adjustment for compression on the resivor, but has an adjustment on the top of the shock, what is this for? is it for rebound? also, the resivor has a tire stem looking thing on it, is this for the nitrogen gas? how muich pressure should be in a shock? mine has no pressure, i was screwing around witht he valve stem and all the pressure came out, can htis be repressuriozed at a shop, or what od i have to do?

You can get nitrogen at performance places. It costs between $5 and $20 to get a shock filled. The adjuster on the top of the shock is for compression I think. I did the same when I first got my quad, I accidently let the gas out. I just put about 120lbs of air in, and it actually works fine. I should, however, probably put nitrogen in eventually.
