i know that 2 strokes are supposed to be banned in 2006, but i read from another forum that suzuki and kawasaki are going to have 2 strokes go out with a bang, does anybody know if they are really making one? if so that would be cool, what do you guys think?

First of all, 2 strokes won't be "banned" in 2006. The EPA will have tighter emission restrictions in place by 2006... 2 strokes will need to run 'cleaner' in order to meet these standards..
It would really be nice to see someone besides gas-gas and the "we'll never update the banshee" bunch building a 2 stroker again! Suzuki was the only mfg that had the intestinal fortitude to actually build a big bore ATV.... Let's hope they can do it again!!
I'd buy one!

2 strokes are not being banned in 2006. They are just making the emissions regulations much stricter. I dont think that any 2 strokes in production now will pass as they are except possibly the GasGas. They could make 2 strokes that will pass though, so it is possible. Its anybodies guess whether any 2 strokes will be made in 2006, but I suspect we will see a few fuel injected ones in the future.

Its never gonna happen, If they had the ***** to build a decent sport 2-stroke, they would have done it by now. Can you imagine Hondas sales if they had revamped the 250R as opposed to building what everyone thought they would? I have learned to not get too hyped up about anything that is "in the works" because its allways a disappointment to me.

of course 2 strokes wont be banned in 2006, i doubt that 4 strokes will be completely dominating against 2 strokes in the dirtbike world by then, so it doesnt make sense that companies would just completely stop making them. But i am hoping for suzuki to bring back the LT 250r in all its 2 stroke greatness
